Opex Technologies Welcomes Tim Schilling as Technology Advisor

Opex Technologies is proud to welcome Tim Schilling as a new Technology Advisor, bringing more than 20 years of experience in technology, sales, business leadership, and enterprise advisory services.

Throughout his career, Tim has built a reputation for helping organizations navigate complex technology decisions while aligning IT investments with long-term business goals. His background spans enterprise technology advisory, managed services, strategic account management, cloud solutions, networking, collaboration, security, and entrepreneurship.

Most recently, Tim spent nearly seven years at Cisco as a Select Enterprise Account Manager, partnering closely with commercial and enterprise organizations across a wide range of technology initiatives. During his time at Cisco, Tim became known as a trusted advisor and top performing account manager who consistently delivered value through strong client relationships and strategic guidance.

Before Cisco, Tim held leadership positions focused on enterprise technology solutions and customer strategy. Earlier in his career, he founded and operated his own IT services business, where he gained firsthand experience building technical teams, supporting customers, and growing business operations.

“What drew me to Opex was the advisory first approach and the opportunity to truly advocate for clients,” said Schilling. “Technology has become increasingly complex, and organizations need trusted guidance now more than ever. I’m excited to help businesses simplify their decision-making, reduce risk, and align technology investments with real business outcomes.”

Tim’s journey to the technology industry began through athletics. He started his collegiate baseball career at Wake Forest University before transferring to Elon University, where he continued pitching and was ultimately selected in the 15th round of the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft by the Florida Marlins organization. After a shoulder injury ended his professional baseball career, Tim returned to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems at High Point University.

Today, Tim lives in Hilton Head Island with his wife of more than 20 years and their three children. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, travel, golf, finance and technology. He also stays active, supporting his children’s athletics and activities.
