Opex Technologies is pleased to announce that Ken Nowell has joined the company as Director of AI and Data Enablement, where he will lead the company’s enterprise systems strategy and drive the adoption of artificial intelligence across the organization.
In this role, Nowell is responsible for modernizing Opex’s internal technology infrastructure to support the company’s continued growth and innovation. His work includes overseeing a comprehensive overhaul of the Salesforce environment to prepare the platform for the AI era, leading the implementation of NetSuite ERP, and architecting custom API integrationsthat unify sales, finance, and operational data across the organization. He is also establishing enterprise data warehouse and data lake capabilities to enable more advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.
Additionally, Nowell recently led the consolidation of Opex’s internal communications by establishing Zoom Workplace as the company’s central collaboration hub, streamlining communication and improving cross-team connectivity.
Looking ahead, Nowell is developing a roadmap for custom AI tools designed to support Opex’s Sales and Technical Account teams, including solutions for email automation, meeting notes integration, and internal research assistants that help teams quickly access company and industry knowledge.
His primary focus is reducing repetitive manual work so teams can spend more time on higher-value efforts that deliver greater impact for Opex clients.
Prior to joining Opex Technologies, Nowell spent nearly six years at Spreedly, a payments orchestration platform headquartered in Durham, North Carolina. During his tenure, he advanced through several roles, including Office Operations Manager, Customer Success Manager, and support and revenue operations focused on AI and automation.
His analytical strengths became evident early in his time within Customer Success, where he eventually became the first employee at the company to deploy production AI tools. Among his innovations were “IntelliTicket,” a real-time AI application designed to reduce agent cognitive load, and an AI-powered Quality Assurance engine that expanded review coverage from a small sample of inbound support interactions to 100% of inbound volume.
Nowell also led a major operational architecture overhaul that eliminated years of accumulated technical debt and created a clean data foundation that enabled more accurate reporting and future AI adoption.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of William & Mary and is a self-directed technologist deeply committed to continuous learning. Nowell brings hands-on production experience across Python, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Cursor, REST APIs, Salesforce, and modern data platforms.
Nowell is based in Carrboro, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife, daughter, and two Labradors.
