Former AVANT Executive Leader Joins Opex to Accelerate Growth and Expand Strategic Position in the Market
Raleigh, N.C., June 11, 2026 Opex Technologies today announced the appointment of Shane McNamara as President, effective July 16, 2026.
McNamara joins Opex Technologies following decades of leadership experience across the technology services, channel, engineering, operations and vendor ecosystems. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Engineering, Operations and Vendor Management at AVANT Communications, one of the nation’s leading Technology Services Distributors. During his more than nine years with AVANT, McNamara held multiple executive leadership roles and helped support the company’s evolution into one of the industry’s most influential technology advisory platforms.
Throughout his tenure at AVANT, McNamara led and aligned critical functions across sales, engineering, operations, partner experience and vendor strategy. His leadership helped advance scalable operating models, strengthen supplier and partner engagement, expand technology portfolio alignment and support a partner ecosystem responsible for billions of dollars in technology spend. His teams worked across more than 350 technology providers spanning cloud, cybersecurity, AI, customer experience, connectivity, data center and infrastructure solutions.
Prior to his enterprise operations and vendor leadership role, McNamara led AVANT’s East and South Central sales regions, where he helped drive significant growth, deepen strategic partner relationships and expand the organization’s national market presence. His background across revenue leadership, operational execution, technical strategy and channel development gives him a unique perspective on how customers, partners and technology providers can align to create measurable business outcomes.
“Shane is a proven executive with the rare ability to connect strategy, execution, people and market opportunity,” said Courtney Humphrey, CEO of Opex Technologies. “He brings a deep understanding of the technology advisory market and a strong track record of building high-performing teams, strengthening partner and supplier relationships, and creating operational models that scale. As Opex enters its next phase of growth, Shane’s leadership will help us expand our market position, increase value for our clients and partners, and continue building a company known for trust, expertise and execution.”
McNamara is widely recognized across the technology channel for developing talent, fostering strong industry relationships and building cultures centered on accountability, collaboration and customer success. His leadership experience spans sales, engineering, operations, vendor management, business development and channel strategy, making him well positioned to help Opex capitalize on the continued expansion of technology buying through advisory, partner-led, and ecosystem-driven routes to market.
“Opex has built a strong reputation for delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and helping organizations make confident decisions in an increasingly complex technology environment,” said McNamara. “I have had the opportunity to work closely with the Opex team for many years and have seen the strength of their culture, the quality of their people, and the impact they make for customers. I am honored to join the organization and excited to partner with Courtney and the leadership team to accelerate growth, strengthen our market position and continue delivering exceptional value for clients, partners, technology providers and employees.”
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the technology channel, as organizations increasingly rely on trusted advisors to evaluate, procure, implement and manage complex technology solutions across cybersecurity, cloud, AI, connectivity, infrastructure, collaboration, customer experience and digital transformation.
“Shane’s appointment is a strong strategic move for Opex and a meaningful talent signal to the broader channel ecosystem,” said Janet Schijns, CEO of JS Group, a leading channel go-to-market consultancy. “The market opportunity moving into the channel is significant, but capturing it requires more than relationships. It requires disciplined strategy, operational clarity and the ability to out-position the field before the market catches up. Shane has consistently demonstrated that ability. His experience across sales, engineering, operations and vendor strategy gives him the range to help Opex scale in a smart, differentiated way. I believe he will be an Executive to watch as the company enters this next phase of growth.”
McNamara’s appointment reflects Opex Technologies’ continued investment in leadership, innovation and long-term growth. As technology buying becomes more complex and outcomes-driven, Opex is strengthening its ability to serve as a strategic advisor to clients while expanding collaboration across vendors, distributors and channel partners.
